There is no one right way to parent, but every parent needs to learn how their unique parenting strengths can help them meet the 5 essential needs of their children. Learners will experience the keys to well-being for parents as well as understand the 4 dominant parenting styles.
Everyone has strengths. Sadly, most parents and children are unaware of their own not to mention each other’s strengths. To parent effectively, parents must be attuned to clues to their children’s strengths and to their own parenting strengths. You will learn to spot clues to strengths and how to invest in those strengths.
The difficulties of child-rearing cause many parents to experience a cycle of frustration, anger, lashing out, and then guilt. This cycle leads to a pattern of conflict and avoidance that negatively affects families. In this session, learners will understand this emotional process and develop concrete strategies for doing away with parental guilt and the shame cycle. Participants will engage the 5 essential needs of children.
Relationships are constantly changing — improving or deteriorating. How parents react to the changes in their relationships with their children predict whether that relationship will continue to improve or deteriorate further. In this session, we will discuss upward and downward relationship spirals, how to spot early problems, and how to change the direction of deteriorating relationships, as well as how to create habits that ensure quality relationships with your children.

Each child has unique strengths that make them who they are. Their strengths are their unique lens for seeing the world. It is the reason they act, think, and feel the way they do. It is where they will find passion, energy, and joy their entire lives. In this session, we will review the 12 most common strengths in children and explore how to bring out the best in children with these strengths.
